Performing well during the tests out on the ice, the time has now come for the support team to leave Crown Bay on the SA Agulhas leaving the ice team on their own with only the thoughts of the challenge ahead.
Built on sledges that will be pulled behind the expedition, 2 – 30ft containers will provide the living space and vital protection from the element, whilst another 30ft container will be the moving science lab that will seek to make a decisive contribution to understanding the effect on climate change upon the poles.
We are delighted to be able to support the world’s greatest living explorer, and his talented team in the hope that they will be complete the last great polar challenge for such a wonderful cause.
The 2,000 mile trek across the continent begins in March and is seeking to raise $10 million for Seeing is Believing, an international initiative to tackle avoidable blindness as well as collecting key data to help us understand the effects of climate change.
